Frequently Asked Questions

1. What's the difference between OPA and NPA training?

OPA (oropharyngeal airway) is used on unconscious patients with no gag reflex. NPA (nasopharyngeal airway) is better suited for semi-conscious patients or those with an intact gag reflex. Our basic airway trainer allows practice with both.

2. Which model is best for cricothyrotomy practice?

The Wearable Cricothyrotomy Trainer offers the most realistic experience, allowing learners to practice incision, landmark identification, and bleeding control. For tabletop practice, the Pocket Cricothyrotomy Simulator is ideal.

3. Are these models reusable?

Yes. All MedEduQuest airway management trainers are built for repeated use. Replaceable membranes and durable materials support long-term classroom or field training.

4. Do you offer models suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. The Basic Airway Management Trainer is perfect for teaching fundamental skills like OPA/NPA insertion and suctioning. It's ideal for entry-level nursing or EMT programs.

5. Can I use these models in large classroom settings?

Yes. Our models are designed for durability and can withstand repeated use by multiple learners in high-volume training environments.

6. Do these models support intubation training?

Yes. Our Advanced Airway Management Manikin is designed specifically for intubation, bag-valve-mask (BVM) ventilation, and suction training, featuring anatomically accurate airway structures.

7. Are your cricothyrotomy models suitable for tactical or field training?

Yes. The Wearable model can be strapped onto a live actor or mannequin, making it ideal for field drills, trauma simulations, and military medic training.

8. Do these trainers simulate bleeding or resistance during procedures?

Our models can simulate resistance during surgery, but cannot simulate bleeding during surgery at this time. The bleeding simulation feature is under development.

9. What skin tones are available?

Our Deluxe Cricothyrotomy Trainer is available in three skin tones, helping promote inclusivity and cultural competence in clinical training.

10. Do I need special tools to use these models?

Only the Basic Airway Management Trainer comes with OPA and NPA tools - other models don't include special tools for practice. So you need to use these models.

11. Can these models be used in simulation labs and prehospital care training?

Yes. They are designed for use in medical simulation labs, nursing schools, emergency services, and tactical environments - wherever airway management training is needed.

12. Are there pediatric versions of these models?

Currently, MedEduQuest offers adult airway management models online. Pediatric and infant models are in development - feel free to email us at sales@mededuquest.com for more info or updates. You can also subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop.
